Colin K I think that the site is very good, but nothing is ever perfect (I hate those flashing advertisements).

I have never really got used to the new colour scheme and would prefer the old "institutional green" to the current "prosthetic pink" - but that's just MY opinion.

Skittler Don't mess with it too much please!

Once I've learned where all the sections are I'd like them to stay put.

Also, after the last change (from MyTomTom to YourNav) all the cross-links between articles got broken sad.gif

Bruce A better search facility would be useful. At the moment you can only search by one word which has to be longer than 3 letters!

Andy_P Agree with all the previous posts..
Colur - Yeugh! Also difficult to read sigs.
Search - Infuriating!
Broken links - Looks unprofessional, but I know how laborious it is to try to fix them all.

Love the news reports
Love the image attachment feature (on most forums you have to upload to your own webspace and link to that).
Leave the forum structure as it is - it works well
Often want a "hitting head with hammer" or "hitting head on wall" smilie. Can we add those?

Especially like the new "paid moderators" idea...

alanhowat Hi all,

How about the ability to edit posts NOT having a time limit?

Cheers,

Don't worry, the forum sections won't change. At best, a few will be added as new generations of PND's show up, but that's it.

I'm not really talking about making any changes to the forum, because I believe it's fine as it is. smile.gif

I know, and I agree it's a pain. Unfortunately, these sorts of migrations hardly ever happen completely painless. This is really the best we could do... sad.gif

Bart, yes, a definite improvement. Andy seems to be with me, why not put it to a vote?

The site is really great, but I would like to see the Map sections more distinguishable between US/Canada and Europe.

What would you like to see, exactly Ivan?

There is already a section of the TomTom forum specifically for US/Canadian map and POI questions.
There don't seem to be enough posts there to make it worth splitting it up into individual ones in the 'Maps' and 'POI' headings, though.

Maybe we need similar sections for the other PND brands?

Well, there is just one TeleAtlas section for Tomtom regardless of continent.

http://www.yournav.com/forum/index.php?showforum=96

and this main headline article from a month or two ago made it seem like there may be new Maps for all locations (not just Europe) available:

http://www.yournav.com/content/n/239/Final...for_TomTom.html

Other than that, I love the forum and am very happy with it.

Not true, I'm afraid....

The US/Canada section says in its heading on the index page:
QUOTE
For all the US & Canadian TTG users who have questions regarding their USA/Canada maps or POI's.

and the "pinned" post at the top inside that section says:
QUOTE
PINNED: Read this first! THIS IS FOR US MAP AND POI QUESTIONS - Everything else can go in the main sections

The reason it is not split up into seperate map and POI sections is explained in my previous post.
Not perfect, but Bart has to decide on SOME cut-off, otherwise you would end up with seperate forums for every single topic.

Andy_P No problem! smile.gif
Personally, I too think it would be neater if there was a "US maps" section within "TomTom / Maps", and a "US POIs" within "Points Of Interest (POI's)", but I don't make the final decisions!
Looks like Bart is keeping new sections in mind though. good.gif

sgould Colours....

I said somewhere else that I think this software has an option of "skins". If this is so, then the board could offer a user choice of either orange or green.

The great thing about Martin's posts are that your eyes are confronted with such a miasma of font styles, sizes and colours that you never actually read anything he says!!! yahoo.gif

(Also just joking Martin).
